Gouge is a U.S. Navy term for essential piece of information. If you've read the about me section you've learned that I am a Marine spouse, so it may be confusing how I learned this strange vocabulary word. Navy and Marine corps pilots train together in flight school so the term has bled over to the aviation side of the Marine Corps. During flight training flight students are always trading "gouge" for tests and briefs. I hope when you read this blog you find the essential pieces of information you need to make your career as a military spouse successful.
Welcome to The Gouge.
